Communications Technologies

This section of my portfolio showcases a range of projects using various communications technologies. With a curious mind and a passion for innovation, I love to explore emerging technologies to uncover creative ways to leverage them for effective communication. I am always excited to delve into new technologies and harness their potential to connect, engage, and inspire audiences. By staying up-to-date with the latest trends and tools, I am well-positioned to uncover novel ways to integrate technology into my work.

Twitter Chat

As part of my work as a volunteer on AALHE's Communications subcommittee, I moderated a live Twitter Chat on the topic "What is Assessment?" I ran the official AALHE account while simultaneously engaging as myself on my personal account. You can view highlights from the discussion archived as a Twitter Event.

Interactive Land Acknowledgement Poster

While volunteering for AALHE's Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Belonging, I led a subcommittee in creating an interactive land acknowledgement poster for our 2022 annual conference. We wanted to create something more in-depth and interactive than the typical practice, so we created an asynchronous experience for conference attendees to learn more about colonization of Native peoples and their practices at multiple levels, including local to our conference in Rhode Island and our higher education practices nationwide. Participants could scan the QR code for information, reflection opportunities, and calls to action.

Canvas LMS Shells

I have created a number of Canvas LMS shells as communications hubs for campus-wide initiatives, including our local Racial Equity implementation, our Center for Teaching and Learning, and the creation of our Self-Study for NECHE accreditation.

"Assessment Works" Podcast

The "Assessment Works" podcast emerged from my work in the Communications subcommittee of AALHE. I managed all the production for the show, including visual branding, hosting platforms, linking up our feeds to various popular podcasting services, and audio production; I shared writing, interviewing, and hosting duties with my co-host, André Foisy.

PowerBI Interactive Data Dashboards

Airtable Database

If you will forgive a brief foray into less-professional endeavors, in my spare time I run a friends' fantasy league for The Bachelor franchise. After initially tracking scores and standings using a complicated spreadsheet hosted on a Google site, I transitioned to hosting the league using the cloud-based database platform Airtable. Using this tool's relational powers, formulae, and highly-customized saved views, league members could track their own scores as well show contestants' points and progress. The database was supplemented via a private Facebook group, which I used to coordinate draft days and watch parties. NHTMF Fantasy League

Social Media

I have volunteered to run social media platforms for multiple professional and community organizations, including AALHE, the Hoosac Valley Elementary School Parent Teacher Group, and the Cantilena Chamber Choir. I am familiar with many platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn. This artifact shows a promotional video I created for social media promotion of the above "Assessment Works" podcast.
